RLPT Event #14 Results
For those of you who weren't there, you missed the biggest suck out in RLPT history. Yes it is even a bigger suck out than the one I did on poor Zippy several events back. Lets set the stage:
Winston vs Ricko in what was about the 10th hand of the night. The flop comes Jh - Ad - 7d. Winston best $500, only to have Ricko raise it to $1500. Winston says all in. Ricko has a decision to make, awfully early for someone to lose all their chips 10 hands into the night! Winston pokes him a bit and says I have pocket 7's. Ricko says that he can beat pocket 7's ... hmmm ... He then says he has to call and throws in all his chips. Winston turns over pocket rockets Ac-As and has a commanding lead over Ricko's Jd-Jc. Ricko immediately reaches for his wallet for the rebuy because he is damn near dead in the water. Ricko needs the Js for quads or runner runner diamond for a flush. The turn card is a 10d. Winston looks at me with a little doubt in his mind. The river comes ANOTHER FREAKING DIAMOND!!!! Winston slumps in his chair as Ricko catches runner runner diamond for the flush to beat Winston's three aces ... WOW! we should have called it a night right then and there as the cards went Ricko's way and he won both events.
Couple things to note: The lodge no longer likes "Heavy C" but we love "Fun Corey". He stayed the night and went shot for shot with us. I just wish I had a picture of him sleeping on the couch sitting straight up with his sweatshirt hood pulled over his head. He looked like the Unabomber!!
I think the garage worked out very well for poker. Lots more room out there and it is nice to play darts after getting knocked out, as Mark and I can attest to!!
Hats off to Zippy, Ricko, Fun Corey for helping Buck win 3rd place in an online poker tournament after RLPT 14a. We took home $4.50!! Woohoos!!! My bank roll is now up from $100 to $244.50. Nice ...
