Here is the recap for RLPT #6 as best as I can remember

 

Started with 7 players (Buck, Ricko, Zip, Dave, Kenny, Corey, Pinto).

 

A quick shot of Jack or Jose as we saluted Ricko’s 46th bday.  Happy Bday Ricko!!  And as always, toasted those fellow Brothers In Lodge not in attendance (Woody, Duke, Johnny, Mini, B, etc).

 

Ricko announces a new rule, buy in for the tournament is now $30 each, with the additional $5 going to the house to help cover alcohol and food.  Thanks guys, I truly appreciate this.  You bastards know how much you eat and drink??

 

Shuffle up and Deal!!!

 

Things rolled along very nicely for the first 45 minutes when Buck says last hand before the break.  Cards are dealt and it turns into a 2 handed game, Pinto against Dave.  Flop comes (King – King - Jack) Pinto makes a big bet of $3k, Dave looks Pinto over and re-raises.  Pinto looks perplexed and goes all in, Dave calls.  Pinto is holding Ace, Ace which looks good on paper, but not after Dave flips over Ace, King.  With a 5 on the turn and a 6 on the river, Pinto is out before the first break.  A new record at a RLPT event. 

 

Pinto buys back in and his aggressive style of play is limited…

 

Early in the second session, Zippy goes head to head against Corey.  Corey bets $1500 and Zip calls, flop comes (King – Six - Six) Corey goes all in and Zippy quickly calls.  Corey flips over (King – King) for a full boat.  Zip sighs, and then flips over (Six – Six) for 4 of a kind!!!!!!!  Are you kidding me??  Turn card is a Jack and the River is a Jack.  Corey is out and must buy back in. *See the movie on the “Memories” page*

 

With that hand, Zippy has the 2nd highest hand in RLPT history:  4- Sixes, which is rated just behind Luis, aka Puke Boy’s 4- Tens.  Ricko, please add a page to the website for highest hands.  I’ll keep track from now on and we can add the highest hands of each night to the list.  Might be kind of fun.

 

Corey went out just before the 2nd session ended.  He made a quick phone call and was off to play in another event at a buddy’s house.  Corey came back to the Lodge tournament after winning at the other game and played in the RLPT6a game later in the night (morning).

 

Just before the third session ends, Pinto and Zip go head to head.  Not sure how the beating went but basically Pinto goes all in after the flop (K hearts – 2 hearts – J clubs) and Zippy calls.  Pinto is holding a flush draw (5 hearts, 7 hearts) and Zip has (King – Two). Turn card comes up Queen, and the river is a Two giving Zippy a full boat and leaving Pinto out of the tournament.

 

Pinto, not having much to do, continues to drink his Mickey’s (which btw, is not a sanctioned beverage at a RLPT event – isn’t that right Zippy??)  AB products only!!  After several more Mickey’s, Pinto decides he has had enough and is off to a strip club.  He lobbies very hard to get us all to go, but we hold our ground and continue the battle.

 

Before the 4th session begins, Kenny gives Ricko a bday gift.  Something I think woody needs.  I don’t know how to really explain it other than it is a practice putting green that goes around the toilet and practice you your putting while taking a crap.  Ricko will have to send out the pic we took.  We tried to get Ricko to demo it for us, but he just wouldn’t do it.  If we ever do get a pic, it will go directly to the “pay area” of the Raccoon Lodge web pages. *”Golf While You Go”. Eventually, Zip goes out in 5th place, Dave followed in 4th leaving Ricko, myself and Kenny.  Kenny makes a profound statement: Having sex with a fat woman is like riding a moped.  They both are a lot of fun, you just don’t want your buddies to see you doing it. 

 

Kenny claims he is drunk and goes all in.  Ricko takes him down and that leaves Buck vs Ricko.  Who will get their 3rd RLPT Championship????

 

We play a few hands and go back and forth…then we come down to a flop:  (Ten – Jack – Five)  Ricko Checks, and I check…Turn card is a King.  Ricko goes all in.  I think he has nothing, he didn’t bet on the flop.  So I make the call having top pair on the board (King – Nine). Ricko has (Queen – Ten).  HE HAS THE STRAIGHT!!!  AUGH…but I’m not out of it yet.  If a queen comes up we tie.  The river comes………………………….5 clubs.  Ricko wins his 3rd RLPT championship.  Nicely down Ricko!  Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy, especially on his bday.

 

Event 6A began with Buck, Dave, Corey and Zip.  We decided that a $10 buy in and winner takes all.  Zip went out early and snored on the couch.  Corey was the next to fall.  Dave went out in 2nd and Buck wins $40.

 

Consumed:  750ml of tequila, 750ml of JD only 1- 3finer gin pour by buck, beer (too many to count).

 

Buck gets up in the morning to find Zippy has left but left me a wonderful message written in pencil on the pizza box:  Thanks 4 the Big Fun – Love Zippster.

 

And there you have it boys, another successful tournament.  Look forward to the next one.  If all goes well, Woody will be with us.  Fingers crossed!

 

RLPT #7 will be scheduled for Friday night May 6th at 6pm.  Those playing will be:  Buck, Ricko, WOODY!, B, Bobbo, Zip, Dr. Mark, Kenny.  If you cannot make it, please let me know and I’ll open it up to the others (Corey, Dave, Adam, Boomer, Dr. Mark #2)
