RLPT Event #04!
This could turn into a novel, but I'll do what I can to keep it as short as possible.
Here is the recap for RLPT event #04!
- Started with 8 players (Buck, Ricko, B, Zip, Bobbo, Boomer, Dave, Luis) and 2 reserves (Kenny, Pinto)
- Quick shot of Jack Daniels as we saluted the Rookies (Dave, Luis) and toasted the fellow Lodge Brothers who could not be with us (Woody, Duke, Johnny, Mini).
- Shuffle up and Deal!
- Buck soon found himself heads up against Zip. The flop comes up Q, A, J. Buck thinks he has a K, 10 in his hand for a straight and goes all in. Zippy calls and turns over his pocket Aces giving him 3 Aces. I show my straight: K, 10 which was actual a K, J. Oh #@%&, I'm in trouble *gulp*. Turn card is a 2, and the river is a FREAKING 10!!! Buck pulls one out of his butt and his straight beats Zippy's 3- Aces. Zip has to buy back in, Buck takes a shot of JD and begins to breath again... *sigh*
- B takes out Bobbo (see raccoon web site http://raccoonlodge.tripod.com where we will soon have a video of this on the web site!) with a full house. Bobbo must buy back in.
- Break time; raise the blinds, another shot saluting Luis and Georgie on having a baby, start playing again, where the hell is Boomer?? Must be in the bathroom. Three hands later, no Boomer. Go outside, Boomers truck is gone. Call Boomer, nothing. Nextel Boomer, nothing. It is now Monday morning, 8am and no one has heard from Boomer. Could it have been a booty call?? CALL ME BOOMER!
- Pinto takes over for Boomer. Not his money so what the hell. Boomer goes out very quickly, but he left $15 for a re-buy so Pinto, being the good guy that he is, plays those chips and loses putting him in 8th place. Sorry Boomer.
- Not long after, Bobbo and Zippy have to leave and forfeit their chips leaving them in a tie for 7th place
- In a "Sanctioned Event” Mr. Costanza goes out in 6th place and for the first time does not finish in the money. OUCH! That is OK Ricko, we need a dealer anyway! Next week I'll teach you how to shuffle.
- Mr. Dahl, who has been watching the entire night, buys in for $15. Good luck Kenny!
- Dave, the other Rookie is playing very well, holding his own and trying not to make waves
- Luis, Rookie #2 is not in good shape. He has been hitting the JD pretty hard and it looks like it will take it's toll on him. Luis does make it to the bathroom and well I won't go into details after that. All I'll say is we had to take a 20-minute break so Buck could do some cleaning in the bathroom. Ricko, I sure as hell hope you took a picture of Luis when he came out of the bathroom with barf all over him. Talk about a black mail picture. Wow! Luis sits outside for 2 hours, in 40-degree weather sobering up. We fold his chips and the rookie comes in 5th place, just out of the money.
- Kenny, on the short stack quickly is out finishing in 4th and taking home $20
- Buck takes out the rookie Dave with a flush putting him in 3rd winning $40
- Now it puts the teacher, Buck up against his pupil B (for those who couldn't make, Buck taught B some pointers this past week so he could play longer and not get knocked out). Heads up Buck gets lucky and gets 2 kings on the flop to match a king in his hand. B goes all in with an ace in his hand and Buck wins with 3 kings. B takes 2nd and $65 and Buck wins RLPT#04 worth $165, giving him 2 straight RLPT event titles and allows him to take over as the overall money winner on the RLPT Series with $430 over taking Ricko.
- Consumed: 750ml of tequila, 750ml of JD followed by 1.75ml of JD (I'm not kidding!), only 1- 3finer gin pour by buck, beer (too many to count).
- Everyone takes off, B and Kenny ride their bikes home, and Buck puts Luis to bed, cleans up the house and relaxes with a 3 finer nightcap to contemplate the night’s activities.
