RLPT Event #01!

First off, I wanted to say thank you to those who played in the first round of the Raccoon Lodge Poker Tournament.  For those of you who couldn’t make it, let me recap as best I can.  I’ll also fill you in on a few things I learned as well.

 

Tournament started off with Buck, Ricko, Bobbo, Zip and Adam.  Retch and Dahl were late showing up as usual.  Cocktails were flowing, food was plenty and the conversation while playing was amusing.  Zip always bets $25 no matter what, unless of course he has pocket Ace’s in which case he will reach for a $500 chip and throw that in scaring everyone out of the pot.  Next hand he is back to the minimum $25 bet.  About 45 mins later, Zip throws in a $500 chip again and guess what??  Yes, he again has pocket Aces … too funny.  Bobbo was the first to go all in and lose to Adam.  Not to worry though, Bobbo, bought back in and kept playing.  As the night wore on, the blinds went up and Zip went out, bought back in and then Bobbo went out again, followed by Zip again.  Dahl had a great hand and put Adam out and took over the chip lead.  He had to leave so he went all in with a weak hand against Ricko and yes, Ricko won.  That left Ricko with over $100,000 in chips against me with $20,000.  Who won???  Who the hell do you think won?  That lucky SOB took home $125 … whatever, he isn’t invited to round two.  I’m sure he will be sending out a picture of himself and all his chips … he kept saying “Boy, Woody would be so mad right now!”  Game ended around 1:30 at which point someone got an idea to play again.  So we did and I again was the bridesmaid, this time to Adam.

 

What I learned ….

 

1)     Bob snores as loud as Zip

2)     You boys eat and drink ….. ALOT

3)     Never serve peanuts, there were more on the floor than were consumed

4)     Zip always bets the minimum unless he has pocket Ace’s

5)     There will always be a final final final final even if it is 5am

6)     Zip apparently likes my keys and took them home with him.  I hitched hiked to work today …

7)     Damn we missed Woody, B, and Duke

8)     Bobbo was the first man down, but there was no tea baggin, although it was talked about

9)     I will never ever win my own golf tournament or poker tournament.

10) No matter what happens, Ricko always coming up smelling like a rose … bastard …
